Y82 Identification
« on: June 23, 2009, 11:35:40 PM »
I have 2 buildsheets off of my 1979 T/A, when I got it it had all the SE emblems, the build sheet said it had gold rims from what I can tell, both the build sheets have been heavily damaged.  One was under a seat and is pretty shreded, the other was on the gas tank and has come apart except half.  Where on the build sheet stats it is a Y82?

It is listed in column with the rest of the RPO codes (red box)...and also in "symbol form" (notice the letter/numbers Y, 8, and 2 shape Y82)(blue box).

in your case it will not say y82. being a 79 it would say Y84 y82 is for the 78 and older

If the sheets are damaged such that you can no longer tell you can check your cowl tag, the code may be there. Also, you could order the dealer invoice from PHS as well. I had to do so as my build sheet was missing.

your cowl tag may or may not say so as we already mentioned. now the dealer invoice from phs will tell you what it is

And what it looked like when I got it. they sanded all the gold off of the dash bezel, I could only tell it was gold at one time becauseof the edges that they didnt sand. The guy backed into it with a truck, painted all the headlights black, filled in the door handles and was going to just leave the windows down all the time, and spray painted it black.  The spray paint made it hard to paint because of the oily residue it left on the car.  Took my body guy weeks to get it to work out, and he still isnt done with it, its going back to him to finish it next week.
