1978 Trans Am - windshield washer bottle & pump etc
« on: December 18, 2011, 11:12:05 AM »
Would someone please clarify what is the original setup and equipment for the washer bottle / pump on a 1978 Trans am (400ci, manual). If anyone has a service diagram and/ or pictures of the equipment and setup (wiring etc) that would be a bonus. We have a basic TA that was gutted . Thanks much   T.T.P.

89 flyboy: I don't know much about the set up. I did have to replace the bottle and last I knew the pump was not replaceable. But mine still works. ;D

thanx everyone for your responses....let me clarify........ we have 2 (two) wires that exist near the battery, that exit from the firewall. These wires would connect to the waster bottle that has the pump inside it ? Also, is there a bracket the mounts to the fender wel that the washer bottle attaches to ? (the '78 TA we acquired...had ALL the "extras removed...even the complete heater unit and vents -firewall was flat polished stainless steel etc etc etc.)

Burd,  is that the orginal "nut" for the battery hold down?  And, is that an extra washer under that?  Thanks!
