I believe non ws6 got the 15x7 and the ws6 came with the 15x8.  I'm not totally sure if thats the only way you got them.  But thats the most common way you got them.

yes, the 15X7's are the regular trans am wheel. the 15X8's only came on the WS6 package

That is true. That is how I take it to be (after all of my research, anyway).

I believe you could also order the 15x8's separate from the WS6 package (which would have automatically included them).

There's also the Rally II and turbo rims...so w/o more info on your '79, it's hard to say for sure. Do you have a buildsheet for the car or PHS documents? That would tell you a definite answer.

I would have to check.  They are put away but I have some rearranging to do this weekend.  I'll check and get back to you.

Personally, I prefer the look of the 8" wide wheels.  It would also depend on what I planned on doing with the car.  Mine is getting either 255/60R15 or 265/50R15 tires so they would be easier to fit on 8" wheels.

Oh my God. That one I had in high school was a WS6. I think I'm gonna be sick, and and then weep uncontrolably. Back in a few  :'( :'( :-\
