Kick down cable for 78 with 400ci and a TH400
« on: June 24, 2020, 10:41:49 AM »
Hey guys, does anyone know if there is a difference in kick down cable for the 403 and 400? I need a new detent cable and the part shops cant find listings for the 6.6 400. I have 1978 with a 6.6 400 and it has the Th400 transmission. Thanks for your help

There probably is a difference.

There is also never was a Turbo Hydramatic 400 behind a 403 Oldsmobile in a Trans Am from factory. Only a TH350, so you will likely not find an exact part. Likely just get a kickdown from an eariler year Pontiac 400/400 car. Make sure the transmission you have really is a TH400 and not TH350

As above, plus there was no kick down cable for a TH400, it used a switch. Make sure it's what you actually have.
