Title: I NEED HELP

 my fuel gauge dont work pegge past full, i grounded out the red wire to the tank like suggested on here and it goes to empty, so i have three other units i hooked them all up and all do the same ? what else could be my problem trying  to get car done for the nats but there is no way im driving 5 hours with no fuel gauge
