help with the vin.

hi, i'm new to this so please be patient. i just picked up my 81 trans am. but i'm a little confused with the vin. 1G2AW87H0BL127401. it reads that the car is a 305, which it is. but everywhere i read it states that in 81 all 305's came with manual trans and mine is an auto. i purchased the car from the original owners and they bought it with the auto. the car is a canadian car if that makes any difference. one more thing. this car has no options. and i mean none. not even a radio the car has a delete plate. would that have to be a special factory order, i can't see the dealer ordering a plain jane trans am. thanks

1981 Canadian cars with the 305 came with autos.
I fould that out years ago myself.
I am not sure how to find out build numbers, maybe contact GM of Canada to see.
I am sure it has options, just probably not many.
Post up some photos for us to view.

thanks for the info regarding canadian cars. i'm picking it up this saturday. weather permitting i'll get some pictures up very soon.
