Also,
About the wheels you are running.
Are you running wider tires on the Turbos vs the Honeycombs?
The Turbos are wider, so you can go with wider tires, for better handling, and not only that, but Turbos are lighter than the heavy Honeycombs, so you may get alittle better gas milage. ;D ;)

I like the looks of both sets of wheels. Do what you want, it's your car. If it were my car, I would probably do what you're doing now: Turbo wheels for daily driving/cruising and Honeycombs for shows. Of course you could compremise and run 15x8 Snowflakes.  ;)

I've noticed Hammer does seem to have some gastro-intestinal issues
You think Hammer makes noises when he posts, you should be around him physically sometime.
hahahahahaha   I am getting older quicker than I like, but that's another thread. LOL

Tin- You got a pretty car bud.  To be honest, I like the looks of your car either way as it is my favorite year.....but I do have my personal preference as to what rims I'd choose, as I am sure you're aware. Great thread buddy.  I am sure you will make a well informed choice.

You take care,

Hammer--

Thanks...and it's great to see how much of a good sport you are related to the threads on a lot of these posts.  It's been a few years since I communicated with fellow Pontiac folks in this type of forum (just got sidetracked with work and never bothered to replace my desktop after the hard drive died) and I'm looking forward to meeting you (and others on this post) on the Bandit Run II.

Lively input from all and it's satisfied my general curiousity that the majority of people on the forum do appreciate the good design work Pontiac put into the Trans Am over the years.  Shame they abandoned the marque, but that's another topic.

I still remember the first 1976 50th I saw when it was literally hours off the showroom floor.  It might as well have been from Mars for the impact it had on me at the time.  I knew then I had to have one someday (complete with the honeycombs)...it just took a little longer than expected.

George--

Great points.  I've actually been running the turbos for a couple of years and I can't remember if I put wider tires on them than what I have on the honeycombs.  It would certainly make a lot of sense.

I'm sure it's common knowledge by many of you and I recall reading a few articles here and there about the weight difference between the two wheels...does anyone know offhand?

Milly--

I'm with you, I like the looks of both.  Given I have three T/As with their own maintenance demands and costs, from a pure practicality perspective I will probably elect to continue to use the turbos for daily use, restore the honeycombs, and use them sparingly until the concours restoration.

As I've grown accustomed to them, I was generally curious what everyone else thought.  I really appreciate everyone providing feedback on my first topic post.

I like how both sets of rims look on that car but I gotta go with the honeycombs because I love to see those 50th LE's in original condition!

I think the Honeycombs look better on the 76.  I guess it is one of those things that when you get used to seeing a car a certain way, that is the way is should be.  That is the first photo I have seen with a 76 with Turbo rims on it.  I have seen people use 15x7 and 15x8 snowflakes on a 1976, but again, it just didn't look quite right.  And as you know from my car, I am not a "purist" so it is not that.

I don't think Rick is saying he's Alf, but more of a green tint to him, under that human skin. ;)
