Yes you all know the disease I have now. It's called pre planning, car arriving, pre project disease. It's where all those ideas on what you want to do run through your mind! I have some questions I want some advice on.
This is a numbers matching car, so I want to keep it as "stock" as possible. The goal is to increase the performance, have the ability to return it to 100% stock if needed, yet have it look completely stock. Did that make sense?
1. The Olds 403 I believe put out around 220 hp stock. I would like to increase this some without getting too radical and once again, having the ability to return it pretty close to stock. I am thinking a mild car, punching it out some, carb, intake, and such. I don't want it all ratty sounding but want there to be something more than the anemic 220 hp.
2. I am planning on better shocks, springs (I am sure it needs new ones anyway) a mild drop and bigger sway bars.
3. This is where I am a bit torn. I REALLY dislike the "turbo" wheels. I plan to polish then, and put them into storage, once again in case I need them. I am thinking the 15x8 WS6 snowflakes in dark grey and polished to match the dark grey accents. I am also thinking 18" year one wheels. This is going to be a tough decision.
I am guessing however that these "mods" would not give it the ability to be shown in a stock class but maybe I am wrong. I really don't care much since I am building it for my enjoyment, however I definatly do not want to ruin a classic car. Thanks!
