turbo trans am help needed please

hi I just got a 1980 pace car edition with 39,000 miles everything was working great every light gauge works perfect all oringal  I put about 100 miles on the car for some reason now the car will not shift right and the turbo light stays on normal when I floor the car tranny shifts down but wont change gears until I come off the gas alittle very odd thing that the turbo and tranny are acting up together if anyone could please help with this that would be great thank you

for one thing it probably could do with a good service. low miles doesn't mean perfect condition, sometimes simply sitting isn't good for parts.

that is true but it just had a complete tune up and oil change something is crazy the way both happened at the same time almost like something got disconnected that's why I'm looking for help here thanks

Swap a 400 or 455 in there, fixed.

If it is a TH350 transmission you may want to check the vacuum modulator.  Adjustments to it can control when and how hard the it shifts.  It may be bad? It is worth checking at least.

I don't think so...but the turbo could effect the vacuum on the system and thus the transmission vacuum modulator.  I am not too familiar with turbo set ups, only what my mechanic friends have told me. You may find this article helpful tho
