00 Red TA Maryland

Selling this car for my friend against all the advice I have given him. But he still wants to sell it.


2000 Trans Am, LS1 V8, Auto, T-Tops, Leather power driver & passenger seats, Traction Control, Pwr windows, locks, mirrors, Cruise Control, Under 77,000 mi.

This car looks and runs great. Everything is stock except the factory head unit has been replaced with a sony cd player with remote and I pod conection. Tires are z-rated BFG and are in good condition. The car could probably use brakes pads soon. Also the rear leaks a little oil where the drive shaft goes in (common problem). Yep, I saw this on craigslist and would have bought it already if I wasn't moving so far away next year.

Can anyone give some insight on the oil leak mentioned? How much would it be to fix it?

Sounds like it is the pinion seal that is leaking.  It isn't a difficult fix.

Probably $15 for the seal and two hours or so.  My 99 Z28 has the same problem I just have not got around to fix it yet.  Got one on a jeep to do also!

Heck if you are sereous about buying it I will fix it for you $50 plus parts on a weekend.
