Brake light switch help!!
« on: January 17, 2011, 08:48:07 PM »
Hey guys. Long story short. Brake lights don't come on when pressed. Already changed fuses and bulbs. Looks like it may be the brake light switch because.... THERE IS NO SWITCH....i guess where it's supposed to be. Does any one have a pic of where it goes located and what wires go connected to it.

It's a 79 T/A....NO CRUISE CONTROL.

Been driving around for a couple of weeks without brake lights....would really like to fix this.

Any help (as always) would be greatly appreciated.

the brake switch mounts to the brake pedal bracket .     the brake pedal actually touches the switch and opens a contact breaking connection to the brake lights.   when you push the brake pedal down the switch is released  and the contact inside the switch closes and makes the connection to the brake lights,,    just look under the dash to the top of the brake pedal should be a switch there  mabey a green and green/white striped wire on the plug for the switch
