2007 TTAC F-body Show and Shine - HEAVY BANDWIDTH!
« on: September 29, 2007, 10:52:05 PM »
Today was the Tidewater Trans Am Clubs 6th Annual F-body Show and Shine in Virginia Beach, VA.  I was blessed to be able to attend the event today.  Below are pictures of some of the cars and a small video as I drove up to the event in my '75.

Unfortunately I didn't win any trophies this year but, the blue '75 below did win the 2nd Gen best of show trophy so at least a '75 won it, even if mine did not   ;)

The video isn't the greatest, I was trying to watch the traffic light.  Enjoy compadres...

Video:

Here you see the judges working through the cars and stopped at this camaro.  They had a hard time judging the cars because of the quality and there were 44 registered cars for trophies. More than that showed up.

This is a nice 78 Y88, I believe all original car.  You can see a peak of mine to the left   ;D

A row of camaro's.  To the very right a CompTA. I have a better pic below.

This car took a trophy home, very nice.

More camaro's...

The camaro is all original with a 305.  Very good shape.  I dig the paint job on the '77.  No hood bird.

Here's the '75 that won the 2nd Gen trophy.

This camaro also won the 2nd Gen trophy for his class.

This pic sets up the next car...

There's my baby.  I've got to get that front end fixed   >:(

Check out the license plate...

SWEET!

The CompTA...

Sitting in the driveway after a long day at the show.  The pic doesn't do it justice.  My wife came out the door when I got home and she says, "Wow, that car looks awesome, let's go for a ride!".  Who am I to argue with that?!

Car show in my driveway...

Hope ya'll enjoyed the show.

Very nice! Thank you for sharing.
Aimee won't ever say that when it comes to The Phoenix. She's already afraid of it.  :-\

You shoulda grabbed the front spoiler off of the blue one. ;)

Hee- hee -- now there's an idea...but you'd have to carry some red spray paint with you to cover your tracks... :-X ;)

Nah, you just leave black paint behind and blame it on the SE guys. :P

I was drooling over the spoilers, I wanted to rip them off and run like he.... uh, sorry, got carried away, I don't say things like that.  I lost my mind there for a sec.

I knew a guy once who boosted a set of spilt bumpers off a 72 (?) Camaro one night -- sneaked up with a socket set and unbolted them off the car parked out front on the street.  He said the owner was a ^$#$ anyway...hey -- all those Camaro owners are like that...  ::) ::) ::)

I'm surprised that that '75 won over you.
You may be missing a part (lower front spoiler), but that guy had blue paint on the rubber bumperettes, and the '74 turnsignal blockoff covers.
Kinda tackey to me.
I like when chrome bumpers are painted to mact, but not rubber, that's just me.
I see that he had a 455 SD decals on his hood scoop.
Was it?
Maybe that's why he won.
Do you know who owns the 1989 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am?
BTW, the pictures are cut off on the right, so when you say see the Comp TA on the end, it's not there.
Also, I couldn't see the plate on the car you said to look at.
Just letting you know.

Yes, it was a 455 and his engine bay looked a little better than mine.  My paint job looked better though.  I didn't take a good look at his interior to compare to and I don't know by what criteria they were judging either.  When I arrived (late) they had already started judging and I was able to "slip" in just in time.

The pics look fine to me, the CompTA "IS" cut-off on the one picture but below that there's a pic of the car by itself.

Yes, I am friends with the guy who owns the anniversary addition, you have questons for him?

Hmm... I noticed that too.  His looks a little 'cleaner' than mine though.  I have that nasty bracket holding mine to the engine that attaches to the thermostat housing.

George, I have been having that same problem. I don't know why it's only with the ones posted here at Brett's, over a TAC they all are there, I just have to scroll right to see them. But after talking to Brett it turns out it's at least partially due to our computer monitors' screen resolution settings. I am still using an old 15" monitor so I have my resolution set at 1024 x 768. If I increase that I can see more of the pics, but then everything else is too small for me to see.

Wish I could have been at the show to Rich, but family comes first as you know and Saturday was "parents weekend" up at James Madison University where my daughter is in her first year.  By the way, JMU beat Villanova 35-14.

I almost wish I'd stayed home and went to the car show in a way, seems all we did was go shopping and spend money on the kid.  I'm afraid to ask the wife how much was actually spent.

Gotta get that damn T/A back on the road!!

Rich,
Only question I have for him, is if he's on http/www.turbotransam.com?
There's a bunch of us on that site, and it's got great info on the car.
There is also a registry there as well. Hopefully he knows his car number.
