THANKS.. I am out of Fremont California which is about 20 miles north of San Jose

Really nice car. Are those real ceterlines? My had some on my first Trans Am. Also, is that the orignal paint or a re-paint?
I have never seen such a rich color in yellow on a Trans Am.

Love those center lines. I had a set on my Chevy S-10.

thanks for the comments Trans Am Guy...to answer your question, The paint job is new. Even though my 79 was a birthday gift from my wife, I found out some history from the other owner before myself. The guy was doing a complete restoration on the car, then he got a job working overseas, so he put it up for sale. My wife and son checked out the car and bought. Seems the car was brown with tan interior, but the guy had it repainted. To make a long story short, He was about 70% finish with his restoration before he decided to sale.

So will u be finishing the restoration? I just bought a 1980 T/A with a blown engine. It should keep me busy all summer. Oh by the way, what part of the bay area are you at? I am in Napa California. Is that south of Napa county? Let me know.

Nice i got a yellow bird just like minus the great looking body. Mine has the typical rust around the rear passenger 1/4 panel. But i really like the color. Stands out amongst the trest. You got the 400 or the 403? But great looking car!

Ohhh ...ok...Center lines...got it...10- 4 on the rims...good buddy.
Our T/A is yellow too....got some cancer spots & tree sap stains; nevertheless, me & hubby took "Haunter" to: "Ace Auto Body Works" in Petersburg,VA <we reside in Colonial Heights, VA *a couple of miles outside of Petersburg*> on 5/ 2/ 2007 & "Doug" gave us an estimate of $4,000.00 to restore body<in writing>. Paint guaranteed for 5 yrs. No guarantee on rust. We want to go "Stock"....I want the S & the Bandit look.
I'm wondering if it'll be worth it all in the end, since we bought a house with no garage. :'( <On "quiet" street parking>. Can you advise me on a proper car cover?
Respectfully,
Haunter

I don't know if it was offered on T/A's, but my mother's '74 Formula was Chartreuse Yellow from the factory. I'don't know if that was the "proper" name for the color, but it gets the point across.
Great looking T/A by the way.

WOW!!! that looks really good!!!!!!!!!
-
its a 403...with 110,000 miles......stills sounds like the day it was driven out of a show room
-
The actual name for that yellow for 79 was Sundance yellow made by PPG. Now only i could come across the funds to ge the body work done on my car. Lord knows i dont have the patience for that stuff.

Nice ride, keep us posted as the project
comes to an end.

I'm just down the road from you in Saratoga. Nice car! Give me a holler if you ever need some help. Yellow is probably the least produced color in all four generations. Your car must have come in from out of state because it doesn't have the blue/gold plates. And, California won't let us put the correct color plates on the car unless we have the plates and can prove that they were on the car at some point...like with a copy of the registration or title.
