truely i'd say a 72 looking at their production numbers for any model that year, i can understand why. on the other hand i do know where a 72 is but the guy wants an arm, leg and maybe both testicles for a project car just too much if you ask me.

The 1972 model year's numbers are so low because of a prolonged strike at Norwood.  By the time the issues were resolved and the plant reopened, it was past the scheduled release of the 1973 models.  The cars in process on the line could not meet the new-for-1973 DOT collision standards so the entire in-process inventory was scrapped.  There were a lot of perfectly GOOD cars that were sent to the crusher, including some HO engines.  It was enough to make you sick. :P

this guy wants 4200 for litterally a rolling shell. motor interior and all wiring is junk and the roof and pinchwelds need attention unsure about the trunk floor as its filled with coon crap cannot see under the car either. its probably worth all of 800 if that.

THIS is really good,NOT::::::::: i put an add on craiges list for a parts transam for my 1973 formula. I got a reply to a whole transam in the junk yard,so i call this junk yard they say we have the transam, but no title. I then said so now what,he says i cant sell you the whole transam without a title. I was told by the guy that sent me the msg,the transam could be bought. THE dude at the junk yard says,i told him it had no title its parts only. I think that blows. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Tell the guy that you want to buy all the parts.  See about pulling the engine and then remove the fenders, then its not considered a car.  It would be considered parts.  You could still get a title for the car if you really needed to, just takes some time.

Yeah the junkyard stuff sucks, went up to the pull a part and they had a 72 Firebird up there I wanted the whole car but they said they wouldnt sell it and it ended up being crushed. I just went to a yard yesterday that has 75 to 100 acres of land and there is a car on ever bit of it. They had two Trans ams and said they had a Formula but i dint find it. Had over 20 68 and 69 Camaros but no Firebirds. Even had a Mach 1 Mustang,a bunch of old stuff like chevy, ford, pontiac, mopar, and even AMC. They had 2 Gremlins and a AMX. Had a really decent shape 59 Catalina with a motor in it was a big block. Would that big block be a 421 or ?

will that work,he acts lke hes only selling parts not the frame of the transam.

Post by: y88rick on June 03, 2009, 06:54:21 PM
it works on pick up trucks i dont see how it wouldnt work on a bird. some people classify the frame as the car and others classify the body as the car.

When I go back up there I'll check thinking its a 389 or a 421. I traded a old beaten up Buick GS for one of those gremlins up there. ThInk I might try to buy the pair of trans am's later this summer.

Yeah it is! I know this isn't a AMC site but if and when I get that gremlin I am going to try to put a LS1 in it, lower it some and tub it out but put street legal tires on it. I am thinking on painting it PPG Tangerine Pearl. Those T/A's I am going to get all the useable stuff off of if I get them cause there to far gone to restore.

Funny little bracket/housing around the overflow tank

Hard to come by a 350 Pont. engine around here.

Are you going to leave it in the car or are you super sizing it?

That's good...I think it should remain intact...maybe spice up the 350 but deffinatley leave it in...

I'm jealous!!!

I ony have two Firebirds in my yard and one on my dad's place which should probably got to the scrap yard but I am having a hard time parting with it...It's in rough shape!!!

I will get more to part out when garage gets built...2.5 years to wait and counting

Thanks for the pics!

Are there more? :) :) :) :)

I'd love to bring it to NY but my parents would launch me out of the house immediately and my girlfriend would stop seeing me so I'd have to live in it. Think I could put a microwave in there but the shower would be tricky... :)

haha.  You said money should be worth the same wherever it is used.  That is the premise behind a "one world order."  A single currency that has the same value world-wide.

Right ... so the US has to devalue her currency in order to make things "equitable" from a world-wide perspective.  We can't have more than our fair share afterall.  You don't think BO wants to scuttle the ship, do you?  Unless he's looking for something on the world stage, why would he want to do irreparable harm to the US?
