Idle increase after hard acceleration
« on: July 20, 2020, 12:23:16 AM »
Ok, I got my idle rpm right where I need it (550) when in drive.  I go for a ride and everything is good - sometimes I have hard start after it's been sitting after a drive (flooding I think).  The problem I'm having is when I'm driving, occasionally if I floor it (40 to 60 mph), after I slow to a stop, the idle is up around 750-ish.  If I tap the throttle the idle will go back down.  Any ideas?

Is your choke vacuum pull-off connected? It may be catching on the cam if it's not under tension.

Yes, everything is hooked up as it should be.  I even bent the rod a bit shorter to make sure the choke is fully disengaged when its warmed up.  Can you describe, or use pics to help with exactly where it could be hanging up?

Everything seems to be operating normally when I first start it up, and the choke kicks down when it warms and I feather the gas.  It's just this weird anomaly that happens only when I floor it.  And it doesn't do it all the time.
