Main Bearing Retainer Cracked
« on: August 28, 2020, 06:21:08 PM »
Long story short, I purchased an engine used, dug into it, and found that the front main bearing retainer is chipped. Questions is to purchase new and line bore it, roll with it, or scrap it for a different block altogether. This engine would not be "numbers matching" to the car but would prefer a Poncho engine it rather than the SBC that I purchased it with, and I have another lead on a 400 intake to pan for 350.

This block is a 481988 that has already been bored .30 over. The crank is thrashed so another would be needed. The block will also be getting sent out to hot tank and magnaflux before moving forward.
