Ground Issue????
« on: May 20, 2012, 09:51:28 AM »
My 81 TTA just started acting odd. All the gauge lights and dome light will flicker and the choke light blinks on and off. I know if you rev engine that you can tell if its the alternator---nothing happens. If I press the brake pedal it will start the choke light to blinking and if I let off it stops. My guess is that I have a bad ground somewhere. Thing is that the headlights are not effected and usually a bad ground shows up in dim headlights. Any suggestions? It seems that its related to the pressing the brake pedal. My aftermarket radio will also start acting funny, changing source or radio station.

may be the brake light switch is grounded out, try disconnecting the switch and see if that does it
