I recently picked up my first Trans Am. It's a 1979 with the Olds 403 and a Rochester Quadrajet. It's not too pretty outside or inside, but the body is pretty good and there isn't much rust at all, including in the normal spots around the wheel wells. The odometer reads 86204 which I bet is correct due to the condition of the body. It runs good but the carb needs rebuilding and the bolts that connect the torque converter and flywheel are not hooking things up correctly. These two issues keep it from being on the road. There is work that needs to be done all over but its a perfect project that I didn't drop a ton of money on. And hey, the clock even works!

Checked out your photos.. Looks solid.. You do have a lot of work ahead of you..
My advise is to take your time, do things right, and have fun along the way.. When you run into problems in your restoration, just take your time. Should make one awesome TA with some TLC…
**Thats cool the clock works - mine stopped working for some reason**
again… Congratulations..

Hopefully the car will be on the road before long. I'm working on re assembling the steering column and I plan on taking the carb off this weekend to be rebuilt.

Did you buy this from southeast Iowa? I saw one very similar on Craigslist awhile back.

Congrats. Take your time, put in the hours and enjoy it. It's a ton of fun getting them back on the road.
