Prob has part number in the 76-81 parts manual. As for decals, there's only so many repro'd, none date stamped.
Thanks for the reply. I'd like to find an original part with decent condtion label and have it restored. I did this with another car I have and it worked well. Masked off the decal and sent it to a shop that would take care not to damage it. They refurbished it and it's exactly like original, case decal and all. Actually saved a few dollars this way too!
Anyone know the number out there? Maybe have a picture? Maybe even have a rusty old hunk of one they'd like to sell?
I did find a pic in the magazine article with an unrestored 77 SE that would have the correct number and not a newer revision as found in the parts books. It's hard to read the number though. I see the large three numbers are 738. On my 1969 vintage car those numbers are the last three of the longer model number. This longer number is unclear in the picture though.
