Bought it about a month ago for $4,000 off of some dude who had it sitting in his garage. He wasn't sure whether he wanted to restore it, part it, or sell it, but when I got a hold of him he decided to sell it to me. Everything is original including the motor, which has about 90k on it. The motor is in good shape and runs fine, although it leaks some oil.
When I bought it, the car had all 4 busted headlights, no rear windshield, a smashed front windshield, and smashed right t-top. The front and back were fixed as of today, I bought and recieved replacement headlights tonight and they are in the process of being installed, and I have a new t-top on the way.
After those are taken care of, I plan to have a friend look at the engine and decide on what type of work that will need to make it fully reliable. Then I plan to fix all the little nitnoid body issues (some hail damage, a small dent on the front left fender etc.) and then repaint it. I'm not sure if I want to go red or black, but I think I want it to look like this one:
http://i19.ebayimg.com/02/i/000/d0/34/89e4_3.JPG I do not plan to paint the original color back on. Sure, it won't be all original and worth as much as it could be, but then again, I don't plan on selling it later on anyway.
So far, I have just one picture of the car. I live in Florida now and I bought it in Montana a day before I left, so I never had time to get acquainted with it. I should have it by the end of the month or sometime early next month. I can't wait. I'm excited to be a part of this community, and I am also excited to finally have the car of my dreams and to get the opportunity to restore such a beautiful car. I'm in no way experienced with such a project or cars for that matter, but I definitely know what I want.
Hope I posted this in the right place.
