Sail panel emblem
« on: August 15, 2016, 08:53:51 AM »
Hi there,it's been a few years since I've been on this site and I have a question. I have a 76 that was just finished with a restoration and it needs new sail panel emblems. I have the stick on type, and would like opinions on who makes the best oer replacements.

NOS can still be picked up, are the neatest but can be pricey. Years on the coating can start to yellow as well. Or there's these repros.

$49.50 each...is that for the pair or per emblem?
Thanks
Jeff

That's each...but there now seems to be a few others out there. Here's the PG version plus a new one from the Parts Place, and they do differ slightly but are half the price. What would be good would be a side by side comparison of them all at once and dimensions. I have NOS, and not recent NOS but 70's as fitted. And they were not cheap. It might be just the photos used but the PG version has that glittery look of cast pot metal, the cheaper one may be plastic, and the wings are striped rather than used the chrome backing to reflect through the clear red. All look better than that cartoon bird that was the option for years.
