Topic: 1979 Trans am

I just picked up a 1979 Trans am hard top and was wondering if a special edition or not.

The car interior has been removed before I purchased it. it has orginal 403 engine and trans, rear disc brakes and ws6 suspension package. The firewall tag dose not have special edition code stamp on it but I was reading lot of them  were not stamp. my vin is 2w87k9n1****** I am planning to get build sheet from PHS.

I think the norwood cars had Y84 on trim tag in '79. the numbers guys can confirm. what makes you think its an SE?

I have been reading around and the option I have with ws6 suspension with disc rear brake and 403 was in se cars but  the hard top se were rare so I just  wondering if mine might fall into the se catagory? all these item are orginal on the car. car been sitting for long time and has orginal 35000 onit documented. but some one removed the interior.

You'll find a lot of misleading (and incorrect) info out there (and even sometimes here) but for the record... without your cars original buildsheet, PHS documents are going to be your only way to confirm for sure if it's an SE or not.

Thanks for reply this way I'm headed going send out my PHS tomorrow. It all seem posative MIGHT be an se but I'll see what PHS  come up with.
