Topic: Can't figure out which roller rockers and push rods I need

I am rebuilding a Pontiac 400 out of my 78 TA. I need to get roller rockers that will fit under my original valve covers (W72) I have put an isky 256\262 torque cam in the block with the matching valve springs and lifters that came with the cam kit. Im not sure on which roller rockers and push rods I need to get the right fit and best performance. I want to get a set of scorpion rockers but cannot figure out which ones I need. Any info would be great!! Thanks!

have heard mixed reviews on the scorpion rockers, but that was a few years ago so maybe they improved them.  sttandard ratio is 1.5 but some go to 1.65 for added lift/duuration, but you need to be sure the heads pushrod hooles are clearanced for 1.65's.  they sell a pushrod length checker to measure the length pushrod you need. if you are doing it yourself thats the easiest way to verify that.

most all rollers will fit under stock valve covers, but you may need a thicker gasket or spacer. felpro sells an extra thick gasket that works good for roller rockers. i have harland sharp rockers & locks under stock valve covers & they fit fine.

Thanks for the feedback! Which rockers would you go with in this situation? I do not mind dropping some cash on a good set

i like h/s.  they are a little more expensive than the other economy rockers out there but are tried & true quality & have a lifetime warranty... & are made in the USA!

yup... i went with the harland sharps. they look sweet! hope they fit under my w72 valve covers they are 1.5s

cool.  get the 1/4" thick valve cover gaskets & they will fit under stock covers.
