Deleting all the vacuum crap on 75 400
« on: December 31, 2010, 10:21:12 PM »
I need advice on wether I can just block off all these vacuum lines that seem to run all over the place. There is like 9 vacuum lines running in between the heads and the intake manifold. It just seems like it's a lotta crap that won't effect how the motor runs. How about some help.

Did the car run smoothly after capping it all off, cause this seems like a lot of pollution control crap & not much else

You don't need to cap the switches....only the source, either the manifold or the carb.  You'll need the one to the distributor and the one to the transmission if you have an automatic.  You'll also need the vacuum that runs your heater and A/C stuff.

The one to the distributor usually works off of one of those switches though.  Check the vacuum diagram for your engine.

Shouldn't affect the timing...that's mechanical.
