Rotisserie question?
« on: February 04, 2012, 03:17:56 PM »
I'm toying with the idea of buying a rotisserie to more easily work on the underside of my cars. What I'm wondering is how much ceiling room I need in my garage to rotate my car. Currently my ceiling height is about 7 ft when I account for the garage door openers.

7' is a bit low to spin one....account for width of car and ground clearance beneath of about a foot

I measured it out just over 7' clearance. Will be close but I'm going for it. I've always wanted one and nows my chance.

Thanks. I'm excited. I just have to wait till I get my tax return back to order it. Should be a week or two. Seeing other cars on rotisseries reallyade me jealous and I just thought I'd never have enough room. After doing the math, I'm 99% sure it's feasible and I can't wait to get her up there and clean 34 + years of GUNK off the bottom. And then attack the top side as well.

If you're a little short on ceiling height when you get it set up, you don't have to turn the body completely vertical. Angling it will allow more top room and still allow easy access to the bottom.

Don't you have an old camaro ?
Someone (maybe Rick) said you have/had a camaro.

Hijack alert:  ;D Since my recent move (again), I'm probably going to change careers (again)..not sure what that might be yet

Yup, I have a '70 (not a 396 though (307 car originally but going to a 350 probably)
