Interesting that you guys brought that up.  I always thought all the birds had came with that.  It wasn't until I bought my '70 did I find out this wasn't the case.  I had to skip a lot of yards before I found one.

Dash may have been replaced with a deluxe dash pad. i have never seen a standard interior with a deluxe dash. not saying it did not happen, but i would say it has been replaced. by the way worth every penny if it is as nice as you say. i think that is a really good buy, even in the slumped economy.

Looks good. The seats look like 77's. I would check it out and make sure all numbers match buy the PHS and be sure.

I don't think so.  I suspect it originally had deluxe interior and during the resto they bought standard door panels and seats.  Why do I think that's the case?  The dash has the grab bar which is part of the deluxe interior package.  I don't think that fact changed from 78 to 79.

probably correct that the seats and door panels were changed during resto, more likely than the dash changed, though I do have an 81 that the dash was changed. Look and see if the rear plastic quarter trim has the ash trays built in.

Could be a changed dash!  Ironically, I have a standard camel tan dash that I'm going to install in my Y88.  But you're right, it's more likely that the door panels and seats were changed.
