just looked at a diagram you sent me earlier & i think i see where it goes....to the purge canister.
problem: i dont have my purge canister
, it was missing when i got the car. is the canister important to how the car will run or is it just emission related. in other words is it really important to have (1) that sensor hooked up & (b) the canister hooked up correctly?
i hope the purge canister &/or sensor isn't the cause of what i feel is a poor running engine.
quick history, i bought this car 8 years ago from tucson az, drove it almost 2000 miles to iowa & it ran ok. when i got home in late fall (read cold weather) the car started acting up, running rough, choke sticking, etc etc. since then i put about 250 miles on it each season just puting it around town, never more than 1/4 throttle (under 2500-3000 rpms) all because of the rough running.
i have recently found a couple vac leaks & fixed the stuck secondary plate, havent taken it out for a drive yet but when i start it it still seems to run kind of rough. obviously there are many other things that could be causing that (spark plugs dist cap etc) but they are all in close to average shape. i'll tackle those thing at a later date, right now i am mainly concerned with having all the sensors & do-hickies hooked up correctly. the car also just hit 30,000 miles & i did change the o2 sensor. (was a 25,000 mile car when i got it, documented on the title)
if the purge canister/sensor isnt that important to how the engine actually runs, then i will try the other obvious areas next.
thanks for for the help so far.
