Are you kidding? Who wouldn't want to attend an outdoor car show with lots and lots of Firebirds to look at? Really sounds like a lot of fun and not to mention the new friendships that are made at events like this. All this and it's for an outstanding cause. All the right elements for a great event.

I'll be there. Not so sure about the T/A thought. It's amazing how a simple Targa top turned into almost a complete tera down of the car. I'm hoping it will be back together by then.

Rain date is on Sunday. Laura already booked the time off so I don't have any excuses there :)

Booked @ Fairfield....Check in on Sat, checkout on Monday.

Question: I'll be trailering the car up. Where do I put the truck/trailer during the show? Is there a designated area??

The Fairfield has PLENTY of parking for a truck/trailer combo. Its only a couple minute drive on the highway up to the show field from the hotel.

Thanks Tom but I think I'll end up bypassing the hotel in the morning and going directly to the show as its going to be a very long day for me. To make it to registration I'll have to leave my house around 4 in the morning! Laura isn't going to like that but she can sleep a majority of the way there :)

Any truck/trailer parking at the show field??

Thanks Keith!

Hate to trailer the car but I don't think I trust it on such a long trip. Would like to get a number of local miles on it before I try any long distance trips.

Your welcome.  I'd trailer the car too... it's a long drive. Smart decision.

I will be there this year. I was planning on being there last year till my my car developed mechanical difficulties 2 days before the show.  >:(
The Saratoga show is absolute heaven for me. And the drive there and back is half the fun - all the cars pulling up beside our Bird convoy from MA with honking horns, thumbs up, and "Nice car!" comments.
I can't say enough about this show. It's a total blast!  ;D

Glad you're coming this year Rich!! :) Sorry we missed you last year. Thank you for all the kind words about the show. I'm happy you like the show enough to come back again and again. Looking forward to seeing you and your black and gold beauty in July.

The Bird convoy really sounds like a good time. :) Nothing like people telling you... you're driving a cool car..... tell us something we don't know, right! ;)  :D

Saratoga 2010 Updates and info
« Reply #43 on: February 28, 2010, 03:17:13 PM »
Well guys we really appreciate all of your support and kind words.  Great events are made up of carefull planning and implementation, courteous and knowlegable staff, great participants and great cars.  Do all of this for a great cause and you know that is our goal.  We appreciate that you come and enjoy and help support our efforts and cause.  That said, we have listened to you (Tony T, Mike, Eddie B, everyone else) and changed the cruise location this year.  We just need to really decide do we do pizza or grill burgers and dogs?  For that, I need more feedback and maybe Keith F can keep score and we decide what to do and how to pay for it.  Meantime, here are all the details for anyone that does not already know:

The show hotel is the Fairfield Inn by Mariott (they are also a show sponsor) located just a few miles from the show field with plenty of parking for tow vehicles, trailers, support vehicles, and Firebirds.  Use the link near the bottom of this post to get hotel info, directions, etc.

If you do not get High Performance Pontiac magazine, you can read about our 2009 show in HPP on line.  Just follow the link near the bottom of this post.

The 8th Annual All Firebird Lawn Show is your MUST MAKE show on Saturday July 10, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the SPA State Park adjacent to the Saratoga Auto Museum, 110 Avenue of the Pines, Saratoga Springs NY 12866.  Rain date is Sunday July 11, 2010.  If we need to use the Rain Date, an e-mail will go out by thursday night before the show to all preregistered cars, we will also announce on the Firebird Nation of North America Show page http://clubs.hemmings.com/frameset.cfm?club=firebirdnationofnorthamerica/show.html and on this board, or you can call 518-587-8215 to confirm show date or rain date.

All Firebirds, Formulas, Trans Ams, Firehawks, GTAs, Bandits, Machos, Show Cars, Street Cars, Race Cars, Survivors, Classics, Cruisers, Drivers and works in progress... are welcomed to attend. Join your Firebird friends and family. See Birds from fifteen states and Canada.  For 2010, we do not plan to include a spearate class for Works in Progress at this time.  However if you can get about 20-25 cars for a work in progress class to come, we will definitely consider that.  We do not want to have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for 2-5 cars.  Gift certificates are getting harder and harder to come by.

1st, 2nd, 3rd place trophies in Judged stock and modified classes 1967-1969, 1970-1976, 1977-1981, 1982-1992, 1993-2002.  Other trophies include Special Olympics Athletes’ choice, Coaches’ choice, Mangino Pontiac-Buick Dealer’s choice, Saratoga Auto Museum Director’s choice, Joe Nolan award, and jumbo Best of Show trophy.

Special Olympics athletes pick their favorite 25 Firebirds for competitive ribbon awards.

Free truck and trailer parking nearby.

2010 All Firebird Lawn Show schedule:
7/8/10: Thursday 7pm Meet & Greet in the Fairfield Inn & Suites Parking Lot. Hang out, Tail Gate, BYO & catch up with Firebird friends.
7/9/10: Friday 5pm Cruise from Saratoga Auto Museum to Private Grove (with Softball field) owned by the Saratoga Springs PBA: reservations recommended
7/9/10: Friday 8pm Show & Shine at the Fairfield Inn Parking Lot with Fairfield Inn Pick Trophy!
7/10/10: Saturday 9-4pm 8th Annual All Firebird Lawn Show at Saratoga Auto Museum (Rain Date 7/11/10)

All Firebird Cruise leaves Saratoga Auto Museum on Friday night July 9, 2010 at leaves 5:00 p.m. cruises with Police Escort to Private Grove owned by the Saratoga Springs PBA!  Reservations recommended since limited to 1st 100 Firebirds.  Cost is $8 per person and includes cruise, all food and beverages.  The Grove also has a softball field so bring your glove and softball.  There are also some giant grassy fields in the back for frisbee, football, soccer, etc. so there should be plenty to keep us entertained.

Minimum donation $10 required for All Firebird Lawn Show registration ($15 for Car Corral).  Please be very generous.  Most participants give between $20 and $50. We especially thank those who have previously given $100 and up!  All money raised goes to Special Olympics Saratoga.
