New to Forum - '77 W72 Formula 4 Speed - Glacier Blue
« on: September 25, 2010, 11:47:03 PM »
Hello Everyone,
My name is Nick - from NJ.  Just wanted to show my 1977 W72 Formula 4 speed- Glacier Blue color.  This car was purchased new by my parents.  It was driven for a few years then garaged in the early 1980's.  It sat outside for a number of years around 2000 but is now kept in my garage as we work on her little by little, getting her road worthy to take to some local car shows.  It has about 21,000 original miles on it. It still has the original glacier blue paint. This is a color that I have not seen on many other firebirds from my internet searches.   It still has the original undercoating from the dealer.  The spare in the trunk has the original paint and tire that came with the car. The wheels were repainted about 2 years ago.  The interior is in great shape.  I am now in the process of changing out the sagging headliner -- trying to find the correct light blue color.
Thanks for looking.

I just want to thank everyone for the warm welcome and great compliments on the car.  It seems like a great group of people here!  I know exactly where to go if I have any questions while getting this car back on the road.

4SPEED: I am sorry to hear that you are selling your W72 - You are doing an amzing job on the rebuild - all of your cars look great!  I will definately post pics of the engine bay soon.
hada76: Yes - I am grateful they got the stick - good choice on their part.

Wanted to post some pics of the car back in the early 80's.

Very nice.  It's great to see a survivor in such good condition -- it's like a time machine.

One word of caution about frequenting this site:  It can lead to chronic F-body disease.  It generally presents as an itchy feeling when you see the words "For Sale" on a 2nd-gen car, followed by the urge to call your banker and find out how much they'll loan you for a "new" car.  The only known cure is to buy another one, and then another, and then...

Welcome aboard!
Chase

Hey 4SPEED - yes the antenna was a dealer install.  The original antenna clamp broke so I bought a new one - the quality of the new one is just not the same so I will keep looking around or try to fix the original.
