here is a build sheet of one of my old y88's clearly says y88 on the build sheet along with the ws6

on the page of y88's here there is an "as of now" last known produced y88 that is to be determined yet if someone set forth a later production date than that one listed.

is that the actual last date known in production of the y88's or is that just because that is the last month of the 78 model production?

Yes, there was only a certain time period when you could order a Y88 Gold Special Edition, but they did produce them all the way through the end of the production Year.  As of right now, the latest one that I have record of is July 20th for a build date.  That doesn't mean that someone will not come along with one built later than that, it just means that as of right now, this is the one I have record of on July 20th.
