Title: Value of 76 455 4-speed numbers matching
Post by: lamborgone1 on June 13, 2014, 03:04:15 AM
I have a 76 455 4-speed numbers matching T/A    originally firethorn red with red interior non t-top. I want to restore it as a S.E. black interior. I was lucky enough to grab a Hurst Hatch roof with nice glass tops, I want to convert it to a Hurst Hatch S.E.   I think the car could possibly worth more going the way I want to as a S.E. :-\

the "bandit" cars are very popular and are often cloned (some think too much so) and will usually bring more money. just be sure to tell any buyer that it is a clone

I know this is an old thread, but . . . REALLY? ? ?   You own a 1976 matching numbers , Firethorn red, 455 4-speed car, and you want to CUSTOMIZE IT ?  Your car is about as close to my dream T/A as you can get.  Seriously, if you haven't already done it, consider the value of it as it is.  This is a beautiful color / fantastic powertrain combo.  What on earth?  Of course it's yours, so you can do what you want, but consider that someone else may appreciate it enough to give you a great price for it.  Then you can buy a non-original car to customize.  If you customize a non-original car, you don't really de-value it.  An original car can only be original with everything intact.

About 3 years ago the dreamer found out what was involved in roof swaps and stopped talking about what he was going to do.
