Any Anglers?
« on: April 02, 2009, 04:33:50 PM »
Use to be really into fishing but over the years done less and less.. buddy of mine sent this to me.

 here is the story:

This Sturgeon was caught on the Willamette River just below Oregon City 2 weeks ago.
It weighed out at over 1,000 lbs and measured out at 11' 1" .
It was 56" around the girth and took 6 and half hours  and 4 dozen beers for the 4 guys taking turns at reeling it in.
Any Sturgeon OVER 5 feet has to be released unharmed, they are brood/breeding stock and are probably older than most of us.

I would loooove to go fishing for Sturgeon on the Sacramento River someday.

Do you happen to know what kind of Sturgeon is pictured above?

Edit: Did some research, it's more than likely to be a White Sturgeon.

:o :o :o........that is a huge fish.....wow!  Never gone fishin' for that size of a catch, but I try to go fishing in the Delaware Bay with my father in law at least a few times a year.  I think it's a great hobby, fun and very relaxing.
