Two (2) 1970 Trans Ams (small flock)
« on: June 06, 2007, 10:03:42 PM »
The one on the right has A/C black interior with PHS showing trim rims, The one on the left has a blue gut and not a lot more. Both are mostly original.

I sort of got lucky with the AC car. The person selling it actually talked me into buying it. Now I'm glad I listened to him. The other car was a sold to me after months of talking with a reluctant seller. I'll end up selling one of them when I find a Lucerne, 4 speed car.

Speaking of reluctant sellers
It took me 1 1/2 years worth of emails in my quest to purchase my Formula, It was owned by a widower who had sentamental attachments to it & she was asking 3 times over blue book when I first contacted her. Every 3 months I would contact her with no luck in reducing the cost. Finally she dropped $3k, then another 5k to 12,500. I wouldnt bite so she went to $11,500 one day special. I was on the edge of buying a ticket to fly down & got talked out of it at the last minute. I then found another one in Illinois, so I offered my Florida dream car 7,500 last offer & she said no. She passed away but I found pics on the web of the new owner. I contacted him & he never would tell me what he paid for it.

I wasn't really in the market for another white car but it was well optioned so there you have it. I was in the right spot at the right time with a very nice seller.

According to some of the folks (TA/Firebird fans) I've spoke with trim rings was not a regular/common option found on TAs in 1970. They said it was a standard for 1971. Who knows for certain but the PHS indicates it so maybe someone out there knows for certain.
