anyone know what the inside rear trunk should be painted and what material to paint a 78 TA, outside color is Martinique Blue.

Generally flat black with red primer starting to show around sides and rear seat wall. The very earliest of the 78's often still had some that showed the turquoise, black and white spatter paint but most were black. The floor covering was often similar, grey vinyl cover for spatter and black carpet for black, but not always. There were some rough dates on previous forums based on what people found at one point. If it hasn't been resprayed you should be able to tell or see the overspray.
