Topic: Exported Trans Ams - How many?

Does anyone know if it is possible to find out how many Trans Ams were exported immediately after production - I know from my PHS documentation that mine was, and I have just noticed on another thread that another was exported direct to germany, so it just got me thinking.

Hi Hitman,

You can see from the picture that the document is clearly marked as Export and also a couple of extra options, especially the headlights - which I assume are because we drive on the other side of the road to you guys  .  Im not to sure why the glass would be any different.

Also the car is listed as being sold to the Treasuer GM Continential, Belgium as is the car in the other post I mentioned (which I now cant find  ), now the Treasurer either changed their car every year or that must be where the exported or at least the cars exported to Europe where charged to.

I wonder if the difference with your headlamps, is that they dip to the left, because like us here in NZ we drive on the right hand side of the road.
Check it out on a dark night and see which way they shift when dropping from High beam to low, id be keen to hear the result.
Im sure the change wont just have been to do with lens and reflector type.

If you convert a LHD car here to RHD, you have to change the head lamps so they bias left on low beam. However if you are leaving the car LHD, you dont have to change the head lamps, which means they still bias right potentialy causeing a hazard to on coming traffic.
Go figure, you have to wonder about the boffins who right these rules, sitting in their ivory tower of power.

Yes the headlamps do dip to the left, but to be honest I cant be sure that the headlamps are still orignals.

That would explain why there is a seperate option (A26) on the documentation.

I guess no one knows how many trans ams were exported then?
