I think the solid ones are preferred.... and someday down the road i might want to put subframe connectors so its really the only choice...

Ya you bet... Think I've read every article on here about the bushings...  rubber are good if you want a retored look, most people shy away from the poly ones due to squeeking and are near the price of solid ones...and the solid ones last for ever, have to be used with welded subrame connectors and just make the car more stiffer... well from what i have read anyways...

thats ok... and yes... if you use solid body mount bushing you don't have to use sub frame connectors..but if you want to use welded in sub frame connectors  you have to use the solid body mounts... make sense..?...

+1 on going solid mounts. That much flex right in the middle of the car never made sense to me.

I'll never use rubber ones unless I someday do a full on stock resto. (even then, I might try to cheat and make them LOOK stock but have solids inside or something).

Poly is fine in that application (non rotational) but if you want it stiffer and are paying the price anyhow, go whole hog.

My thoughts on the subject seem to fall directly in-line with BusDriver.  I don't recall where exactly I read or heard about this but I remember someone having an issue with the fitment of the mounting shaft of the solid mount on the core support so they had to open up the mounting locations to allow the fit...not a big deal but I thought I would just throw the info out there.  I bought a set last month from Dave at ptfb, did a quick test fit this past weekend before I repaint my core support and didn't have an issue at all with fitment.  I haven't attempted the actual "body mounts" yet so I'll keep you guys posted if any issues arise.  Thumbs up for the ptfb mounts from me so far!!!

By the way, good job Cecil07!  You seem to be making good progress on the ride.

do you guys who have solid mounts feel more vibration. i alwasy thought that those rubber bushings were what kept engine vibration down.

Good job!  I installed my solid mounts this weekend.  Did you do the drop setting or keep it at stock height?
