Got a new project. Not a TA though. Updated with Pics.
« on: October 24, 2008, 11:15:25 PM »
Yesterday we drove to Reno and picked up a '68 Firebird. Johnathan has been wanting to do a resto-mod and this car was the perfect candidate.
Right now it has a 1969 428 with a B&M Tranny but we're pulling all that and putting in an LS1 and 6 speed. At least that's the plan.
I'll post some pics later, I've got a terrible headache, Brandon isn't in a ver good mood either.

We almost walked away from this car because of the massive amount of bondo all over it. But then we figured out the bondo wasn't covering cancer or accident damage. The owner prior to the guy we bought the car from was covering the emlems and side scallops in the quarter panels. :o In fact there is very little cancer in the car, I love living in the desert. ;D The owner thought the engine was a 455 (the guy he bought it from told him that). After we got her home we did some investigating and found it to be a 428 from a 1969 Grand Prix. That's all the important stuff I think. I need to get the PHS and then we'll really know all about her.

The shop is really stuffed right now, hopefully we can get the Camaro out of here real soon.

Thanks guys, I think we did pretty good too.
I'm happy that Johnathan decided to go with a Firebird. Originally he wanted a 67 or 68 Camaro, I'm sooo sick of looking at 1st gen Camaros.

That 428 sounds like a nice powerplant as well. My buddy is converting his 67 to a Lt1 vette drivetrain this winter. Nice find! Always liked the 1st gens!!!
