new guy here i'm looking at getting a 78 trans am.

wanted to know what you think a good price for it would be.

he is asking $15,900
said he is flexible on the price because he is short on space

what i know

4 speed
T-top
37,000 miles
looks mostly all original
front bumper could use a repaint.

Looks neat and a bonus with the W72 engine, if original. Has had a few repaints over the years, or at least touch ups so hard to tell if anything lurking without inspection. The seat covers don't seem to be fitted great, or need adjusting, nothing major. I'd also ask for all the A/C parts if kept them and get it installed again properly. Engine appears repainted, check if it has been out and why. Easy to swap a gauge cluster too unless has full serice history with mileage then it means nothing, likewise if engine etc rebuilt.
Also, appears to be missing the rear hood trim and pedal trim, nothing that can't be replaced.

I remember back on Fast N Loud, one of the first episodes, Richard bought a white t top, W72 4 speed for $5500. Of course that's TV. Based on what I see in the 3 photos I would think he is in the ball park for that car, in fact surprised he is not asking more.

Awesome thank you. Pointed out a few things I didn't notice.

Did all these cars come from the factory with A/C?

Is also numbers matching. He took pictures of the VIN and block to show me.

Numbers matching is always a bonus. No, but AirCon was a very popular option by those years. That one had it, as shown by extra dash vents and AC evaporator case on firewall, but all the compressor and hoses removed.

He said he is the second owner of the car last owner owned it its entire life. Motor has been repainted he doesn't know if its been rebuilt, says its a strong running car. The AC has been taken off at some point and he does not have it. Same with the hood trim. But he is restoring a formula and may not reuse that price.
