Production Numbers?
« on: September 14, 2008, 02:42:05 PM »
Hey Hitman I loooove the new website and all the new information you've posted, especially the cowl tag information for 1969-1974.
I realize this is a Trans Am website and you have the production breakdown of each year for TAs. I was just wondering if you could post the production breakdown for Firebirds as well? Although, I'm not even sure Pontiac kept records of those which maybe why you haven't posted that information.
Thank you for taking the time to read this Hitman, I really appreciate everything.

I have seen those Lomileta. I meant a more in depth year by year production breakdown like this...

1970 Breakdown:
Option                  Manual         Auto         Total
RamAir III               1,769         1,339         3,108
RamAir IV                  59             29            88
Total Production                                        3,196

I do have some numbers like that, but they  are confusing and complicated.  Like for example, the Firebirds and such in 1972, it states that there were 12,001 Firebirds in 1972, 1,096 had the V6 and 10,905 had the V8.... and out of the 12,001 that were produced, 1,263 were manual and 10,738 were automatic.  But it doesn't break down out of those V6's and V8's which were manual and which were automatic for each.  So, I do have some numbers that I will work on posting.

I knew there was good reason for not having that information on the site. It really is a bummer that Pontiac didn't keep better records of the firebird, esprit and formulas. I appreciate the info Hitman.  :)
