I bought one a few years ago from gmpartsdirect.com . Type in the part number that norwood gave you. Their prices are good. The shipping and handling is a bit high, but still cheaper than other places overall. It's a new GM part, so fits like it should.

Thats good to know Doug... I will keep my fingers crossed that I can find an original.  The one I have only has a crack across the bottom; MAYBE.... superglue!

Its a NEW GM ORIGINAL PART, NOT A REPRODUCTION.  But looks like you don't need a new one now.

Are all shrouds basically the same, would this one from GMdirect fit my 79TA with a 400?

Is the shroud from Classic Industries a GM part or reproduction? It has the same part number as the GM shroud.

I would call and ask if it is a GM part or  a repo.  Why buy the repo when the original GM part is still avalible.

ALL the shrouds for the 70-81 firebirds with a Pontiac engine will interchange.  Maybe 75 and up have the inspection cut out and a sq hole in the top to mount an overflow bottle.  The GM one has the cutout and the hole and looks like the one in the pic from Classic.
