In 1976 they were blue in color.  I have an original one. 

most 77's I've seen had this red bottle,   but when I got the car it had the blue bottle in the trunk with the tire.
my 77 has the RPO code  N65   and really doesnt mean the tire got the red or blue bottle.   I think it was the size of the tire.
being a 14" or 15" rim.  and could of been one of the things changed when the shaker went to the taller one.
maybe John Witzke has a different RPO code as I know his is the red bottle.

How close would you say the Gold wheels are to Solar Gold .  Are there a lot of metalic

Im not sure.  this is the 77 SE gold.  and not to sure the 78 had the same gold. as my 79 8's are not the same gold.  Pete is getting me this paint code so I can paint the grills the same.

I think I'm going to hold onto the 17's   there a little over 800 w/shipping to buy them new. and I'm not going to take a big loss on them. as 3 of them have never been out of the box yet.
