Topic: 1978 Trans Am Center Cap Emblems

I'm looking for center cap emblems for our 1978 Trans Am.  I see OER makes GM Restoration part # 527087 but they are about $40 each.  I also see some from the The Parts Place for $10 each.  They aren't GM Restoration but they are A LOT cheaper!  Does anyone have any experience with the cheaper ones from The Parts Place?

The "GM Restoration Part" label is what up's the price...I'd go with the less expensive ones.
I bought a new set of 4 GM hex caps with emblems at the T/A Nationals a few years ago for $50. ...so $40. for just emblems is way overpriced IMO

Yes, the licensing costs and being acceoted as a perfect GM reproduction can add to the price. As a result the cheaper versions are often not quite as acccurate. Some are very good, others woeful. I remember 10+ years back paying about 70 dollars each for these, then used the wrong glue and ruined the lot. Bought 4 more, and ruined another one or two which also needed replacing. And this was only to add caps to my non factory mags! These days online shopping and payment methods offer more options.

I was also looking at new center cap emblems for my 79 trans am...I want to change the color of them though. They are black, I want the bird blue...Is there anyone that makes center cap emblems?

You can get custom but they are obviously far from original quality. Here's one example in Australia, probably just a custom sticket printed up and added under a gel cap or similar.
