Topic: Engine turned a/c control bezel???

I just sold an S/E dash bezel to a guy. He asked a kinda strange question afterwards.

Also do you have A/C control bezel in gold pattern?

I've never heard of such a bezel. So I answered

A/C control bezel? The A/C control is in the main dash bezel (this piece). It does come with the block off plate if your car doesn't have rear defroster.

Seemed simple enough. But then he wrote back.

Yes I know what I bought.
I am asking the other item.
The A/C bezel is covering the A/C kontrol knobs. Also it has swirl pattern and gold color same as Dash bezel.
If you have that part and planning to sell I would like to buy it too.

So I answered again trying to be as polite as I can be without sounding condesending.

Am I wrong? Is there such a thing?

Yes, there is....I think it's just older models though. Jeri's 76 LE has it.

I have never seen one of those before. Very interesting.

I told the guy what you told me and said I'd ask around for one.

This guy just bought another part from me earlier this week. (Anyone remember the front/center speaker braket I was asking about the value of? He actually paid $11 with shipping for that thing. Just shows that anything is worth something to the right person. ) He had that shipped here in the country, but now he's asking if I can ship this to Turkey. And he waited until after he won the item.

The bezel was something a member had sent to me for The Phoenix. But the car is going to be white with black interior so the gold bezel won't go well with it. So he gave me the option to sell it to fund the project.

Yes, they did make them for earlier cars.  In fact, I just sold one on Ebay last week for $21.  I took the photos down, but I can post one back up if you need a photo.

Now, I got it from a parts car somewhere.... it was the last one I had.  If you want to contact the buyer of the auction, maybe he will sell it to this guy.
