steering adjustment

If my wheel is not perfectly perpendicular where do you adjust it at? I had to replace the column and the new one is off by abou20 degrees from straight .
It not alignment the car drive perfectly straight.

The steering wheel is keyed to the column. The steering column through the firewall is keyed to the intermediate shaft. The intermediate shaft is keyed at the steering box side. To make adjustments, the inner/outer tie rods are adjusted. A good alignment shop will put your steering wheel at center then perform the alignment adjustments from that position. The shop I took my car to had something that locked the steering wheel.
