3rd Generation Stalling Problem
« on: July 04, 2006, 10:14:33 AM »
I have an 89 Formula 350 that I bought new.  Except for a SLP catback exhaust system it is stock.  The car has about 82K miles and is driven about 3K a year.  Recently it has developed a stalling problem.  It starts and idles  fine, but when I put it in reverse it will quit.  It is not consistent.  It will go several days without doing it, but it is getting more frequent.  I have checked the fuel pressure and that seems to meet spec.  Any ideals out there??

Thanks

It has never stalled while I was driving.  It is only when I move the shifter out of park toward R or D.

Thanks

I would check all your vacumn hoses and make sure there are no leaks.
Is it fuel injection or carb?

It is Tuned Port Injected.  I'll check the hoses...I have not replaced them since it was new.

Thanks,
