Topic: 1976 Front License Plate Bracket

I am hoping someone can help me; on the front license plate bracket for our 1976.  Did the factory put a front plate on the car?  AND did the factory predrill the front bumper in one or more areas for the bracket supports?  And if anyone has the front bracket supports for sale, just send me a PM message?   Thanks

Pretty sure '76 is same as '77-78, just with lower half of bumper instead of full nose.

See pic, 3 holes for licence plate in cut away. These are dimples to drill out but basically already a hole, and pass through holes already in steel bumper, at least on 77-78 models. They used the regular #499728 plate mount and also the #500519 angled spacers from rubber tube. The front plate mount was also on the buildsheet if ordered to be added later at dealer, VK1 for Tag Delete or VK3 for Tag mount.

The #499728 tag mounts are all over ebay used and now available new too, and probably still through GM as suit many models. Note that it seems to mounts upside down, the plate doesn't slide down into it, the tray is at the top, the holes don't line up the other way.

No, sorry. You could try searching for the part number but it's a 40 year old dusty accessory. You could make similar just from thick-walled fuel hose, angled on one end to suit bumper.
