Hitman's Trans Am New Paint
« on: August 23, 2007, 12:29:12 AM »
Ok, so I know that I have been saying this for 5 years now that I wanted to paint my Trans Am.  Well, this was the year that I fianlly did something about it.  I have had new parts like nose emblems, side molding, grilles, etc for four plus years so it was finally time to give them a car to be placed on.  It really didn't take me that long at all.  Once you get started, you get rolling and can't stop.  Plus, I was on a tight time frame anyway to get ready for the Nationals.  My car now finally has new paint and decals.  There are alot of photos showing the entire process that you can check out here (there are over 170 photos on that page so it will take some time to load):

But here are just a few photos.....

I wanted my car to be different, so that is why I went with the "Silver and Black" paint scheme.  Since I was doing something different, you will also notice a few little extra details that I did to make my car stand out as well.

I did the custom License Plate:

I also did a custom shaker as well ( I have three of them so why not play with a few?):

I do have a regular one as well...

Wow, Brett...truly outstanding work!! I love the details; it all adds up to a very unique package. Does it match what you had in your minds eye?

The hood bird and the HITMAN scoop are nice touches 8)

Excellent work Brett. I love the black and silver color combo. To bad that combo wasn't offered from the factory.

The Hitman shaker and hoodbird... very nice...  8)

I really like it!
So, when are you going to be bringing out the "Hitman" Trans Am Editions at $35,000.00 plus a copy?
Maybe you should put a "1" on the end of the decal on the decklid, and that way you have a numbered car (Like the Macho TAs and such).
I like the idea of having a spare hood scoop.
My 1979 Trans Am convertible has a couple of spare hood scoops too.
One open, one closed, and one done up in white, as I am thinking of having a spare hood and rear deck lid/spoiler redone in matching blue, with a black/white stripe ala' 1970 style paint, and then just 4 bolts front (hood) and back (deck lid), have a different look.
I already do wheel swaps quite abit on my cars, just to be different every so often.
I really like the "Hitman" on the scoop!
Super job!

Me Likes.  Even though I won't be at the Nats,  :-[ you have my vote in what ever class they put you in, even if just "peoples choice" award.
It makes me proud to see cars that are done how the owner likes.  These cars weren't perfect when they rolled off the assembly line 30 years ago, and most were detailed to the owners liking in the first year anyway.  Dont get me wrong, I like to see an all original car, but I also like cars like this that were done to the owners taste.  When I finish my car, it will have my own personality (not like this) but how I like my car to be.
So heres to you Brett, for doing it your way.

TIGHT!!!!  Paint and stripes came out STRONG!!!  The black and silver definitely say "Hitman" and gives it attitude!!  LOL  Plan on smoking the windows?  SINISTER comes to mind when looking at it.
