I've always liked the Pypes system with their Street Pro mufflers. Very nice sound and no drone like you get with Flowmasters. I've used several over the years, I guess a Magnaflow would be my next choice. Flowmaster would be my last choice.

It's a personal choice as to sound. What one guy thinks sounds amazing is what another thinks is awful.
I have a modified Pypes 2.5" system with their RacePro mufflers, apparently their best-flowing but quietest, and I still find them too loud and yet to even see the road.
