He's probably right. Most of the parts that the retailers have are from the same manufacturers. The deciding factor for me then would be the total price including shipping.

Yes, they are right, they are the exact same part.  So, buy the one that costs less because they will be the exact same when you get them in.  On a litttle side note, this happened to me the one time.  I was looking for the t-top trim peices for Fisher T-tops and I call ed a distributor to buy them.  They did not have them in stock and they stated that they would have to call their distributor to see when they could have them in.  I asked them, "well, where do you get them from?" and they told me the distirbutor that they buy hem from which also sells directly to the public.  So, I cut out the middle-man, hung up the phone and called that distirbutor directly to order the part.  So, the moral of the story is, they are the same parts just different prices.

The center console was sort of a disappointment for me.  It didn't fit as well as the original and I had to do some monkeying around to get it in.  But, I guess that's the only alternative when you need one.

I don't need one -- but I'm wondering -- having seen some of the stuff that Mike Russell (mrpontiac80) has done -- I think I'd have him make one up for me. ;)
