nuetral saftey switch

im assuming the reasson im not getting power to my starter selonoid is because the nutral saftey switch is bad? what wires to i put together to bypass this switch? 77 trans am 400 ty for your help....

is the steering linkage for the reverse lights hooked up?  or is it a 4spd car? try moving the collar behind the steering wheel hub all the way counter clockwise as possible... got power? if so your missing linkage,

If you look towards the base of your steering column inside the car, you'll see (2) purple wires going up to a switch. They're in a (2) prong connector. If you disconnect the plug from the switch on the column and use the same gauge wire to jumper the pins you'll effectively bypass the neutral safety.

NOTE: Doing so your car will start in ANY gear. This procedure should be used for diagnostic purposes only.

Eroc was right I switched from th350 to th400 and no longer needed that link that went up to steering column I pulled that up and bam it works! Thanks guys!
